Can you get a heavy coat or thick sweater on her without hurting her and turn down the temperature in the room so she won't overheat wearing it? Or one of those really fancy dog dresses with all the big skirt? Would something like that be safe with her post-op wound? You might ask the vet if there is a danger of a big-skirted dress. Some dogs just zone out when dressed in heavy or restrictive clothing and will just lie there. When I put his raincoat on him, Tibbe will just lie down and give up! It sounds awful but that with some medication that might help keep her quieter so that leg can heal. As awful as it is, you have to find some things that are going to seem pretty tough maybe in order to keep her from maybe being weak or lame in that leg. I'm looking on the Internet but so far haven't found much for dogs that don't love chewing and toys.

What about an Elizabethan collar? Would that make her just give up and lie down? Some dogs do that with those on?

Can you try more than one kong and use those for her meal?
