The belief is that cats don't drink enough water on their own for optimal kidney health. I have 1 cat who only eats wet food and another who only eats dry food- There choice not mine. As long as they eat it doesn't matter to me.
Both of my cats are water drinkers- Must be in porcelain bowl and changed several times a day which is not hard with 3 yorkies and a golden also in the house.
