Hi back at ya!! LOL we have the same problem with Princess Sophie. Not the going outside problem (she has pee'd outside and my DH says he "thinks" she poo'd but not sure. I don't how you can miss that??) but the running away when we reach out to pick her up. I think that when they do this, they know that we are going to pick them up and they just aren't ready. They are still wanting to play, maybe hoping you will play with them or play chase. LOL I was thinking about this about a week ago and realized that every time I reached for her, I was picking her up. I don't want her to run from me either so I started spending more time on the floor with her and her toys and now, when I reach for her, if she's not ready and backs up, I just let her go. Now if it were an emergency I would certainly pick her up if she wanted it or now but I really don't want her to back away from me when I want to pick her up, here in the house or outside when the weather is warmer.
There are others that will be able to offer you better advice as I'm not sure if what I'm doing is right or not? Good luck, I think we can both learn something here!
