I'm not trying to be nasty either, but I agree. If you knew ahead of time that your dog has the predisposition to bite, even i not all the time, then you should not allow people to pet it in public, period. It's irresponsible. Especially if protect an adult but not the child. It doesn't matter if the child's mother was there or not. You know your dog better than anyone. I'm glad you learned a very hard lesson. I hope he gets better.
