Yogurt is usually given to provide "good" bacteria to the intestinal tract. After a round of antibiotics, good as well as bad bacteria dies, so it's helpful to add the good back in order to help you digest foods better. Once the bacteria are back in place, they should stay there and thrive, unless you do something that kills it again. I don’t know why adding it to the intestinal tract would help with the foot problems, so unless a vet told me to add some, I probably wouldn’t do it. If you decide to do it, always us plain, with no artificial sugars and make sure that it says "live culture." They do sell probiotic pills, but again, unless the vet tells me to do it, I woudn't do it.
