I was determined to be very structured with him since everything I read has been yorkies can be very hard to train. Even if I am going to stay up the lights in my bedroom go out right after I put him into his kennel. First 2 nights he whimpered but only for 5 minutes. Only thing I would do it quietly sush him or say settle down. Did not actually talk to him or use his name. Just a quick something to let him know it was not alone. Since then sleepy or awake, if I say it's bedtime he settles right down.
Best suggestion is if you are not comfortable with your baby sleeping with you yet is work on a routine that your pup can learn hey this means I settle down now. Playing him out till he's practically asleep on his feet doesn't hurt either.
Good luck with Titus. It's so easy for them to pull at our heartstrings. |
Thank you for the advice. I can only hush him when I'm actually there to sleep at night in my bedroom on the weekends. I work from 10 pm-7 am during the week so I can't b there to soothe him. I feel bad having to leave him in his crate with him crying
