I hope that being a little bigger she won't be as likely to get hirt. we have wood floor in the bedroom, but the part where she jumps has area rug. |
although jumping is not good, it sounds like your dog is big enough and your bed is not high, Lola jumps up and off the day bed in my office and on the couches as well. my bed is a raised 4 poster and has that new style high mattress, LOL we first bought the same mattress but with the pillow top, the bed was so high that if we got up without being careful we could have hit our head on the chandelier above it and we have a raised ceiling to boot. The let us exchange for a flat top and low profile box spring. IMHO they are making all these new beds to high. Dogs seem to jump different, Lola can jump up quite high, but more like pogo stick just straight up, she can jump up higher than the bed but not on to it. (thankfully) My friends yorkie is quite a bit smaller and low energy buy she can jump up on my bed with what seems to be no effort of all, but I rarely see her jump up straight like Lola does. my last yorkie could hardly figure out how to jump on the couch yet he like Lola was a straight pogo stick jumper. odd little buggers
