When the smoke detectors go off in my house, dogs scatter in every direction, and the look of terror in their eyes would break your heart. They dive under the covers, some go up under the bed, some go to the "safe house" which is a cat house that 2 of them run to during storms....they run to my chair, they run to me and try to claw their way up my leg if I am standing up....if I am in my recliner, they jump up in the recliner and begin to try to bury themselves behind me. It must be excruiating painful to their ears, as these babies "Have No Fear" tatooed across their butts! So, they have ME very well trained....I change the batteries every 6 monbths, rather than annually, in order to prevent the Reign of Terror that blankets the house until that monster's shreek can be silenced. |
