The only previous demonstration of knee issues is roughly once/ month for a split second when running she would hop on 3 legs with back leg up in the air. Our vet has manipulated the knee caps on all visits. Charlie is a regular at the vet office. I would bet her grade at most is a 2 and am just hopeful that we can nurse her along so she doesn't need surgery.
Her energy level and demeanor is back to normal. She doesn't appear to be in any pain but we're keeping her in the crate for at least the next week. I'm going to research the glucosamine/chondroitin supplement options.
Thank you for the prayers. |
Peanut has a 2 in the left and a 4 in the right- I am told he will need surgery. However I am just scared to do it. I have kept him on the Cosequin and it seems he doesn't “skip” as much as he did off of it. It has been colder as well so that tends to make it worse than how it would be in the hotter months. In the hotter months he will hardly skip.
Love the name of your little Charlie! Hopefully everything works out for her!
