personally I think all dogs should have a collar with their name and contact phone on them at all times regardless if they are microchiped. Dogs seem to get out when you least expect it. I had my front door blow open that I thought had been shut tight. I was upstairs on my office phone when I discovered that my last yorkie was standing in the middle of the street. Lola escaped my parents fenced in yard under a very small opening in their gate. I am very careful when opening our front door but she has still managed to scoot past me a few times, thankfully treats and toys were close by to get her back in quickly. My sister's yorkie also got out through a hole in my parents fence that we did not know about. Her dog was microchipped with her number and my parents number but the people that found her never thought of checking that. My sister was out of the country when they called so they did not get an answer, even after 4 days of no answer on my sisters phone they did not check about a microchip, the tag would have worked like a charm had my sister thought to put my parents number on it as well. If your dog escapes the fastest way that some one can contact you is by the tag, why spend hours and days looking for a dog that could have been returned home sooner. There are very small collars and very small tags that you can get. Believe me I would prefer not to have her tag hanging on her, but it really is important. I do like that slide on one, and think I will order it, thanks for posting the link
