I've had two male Yorkies and one female. Each gender seems to have its special sweetness so I can't really say I have a preference though I was terribly afraid to get another male when I got my Tibbe, my current Yorkie, for fear a male might mark, though Scotty, my other male Yorkie, never did mark. Still, I had heard so much about male marking, I had worked up a real worry. It was needless, though, as Tibbe is totally clean in the house and at 5 1/2 years, has never marked. I think my Jilly, the female, may have been a little calmer and more confident than Tibbe but she did not have the terrible start in life that my Tibbe did for his first 9 months, though she did have many illnesses and likely more than one injury due to her tiny size.
