So this afternoon we took Milo in for a second opinion because I just wanted to be sure of what our first vet told us about the hair on his nose,feet and ears becoming very short and thin...we were told it was probably an alergy to something in his food (Acana).
I had been going through pics of his all night and I realised that although he has been on Acana for about 6+ months now,the hair loss started just recently,out of the blue,like just over a month ago.So I was just not convinced that this had anything to do with his food.
Anyhoo,we took him in this afternoon and we have been asured that itīs not as bad as I made it sound over the phone (I am a worried momma! lol) and that what he has is no doubt Melanoderma.
I have been trying to find info on it ALL afternoon and I cant find ANYTHING
Weīve been told that itīs a very mild form and that he is only affected by it in the places most common (muzzle,paws and ears) and that he will probably grow out of it before the age of 3 and the hair will grow in as normal.You have to be right in his face to
really notice.Itīs not an illness,heīs perfectly fine,there isnt even a treatment or prevention...but does anyone know more about this?
