I would be sure to give her a calcium supplement. The tablets I use are dosed for a 25 pound (non-nursing) dog. I give my girls 1/2 tablet twice daily. This will not only help with milk production, but helps prevent eclampsia.

It doesn't sound like you're feeding her enough. A new Mom with 6 babies needs 4 or 5 meals a day. Mine tend to not be very interested in kibble by itself at that time. I usually feed them scrambled eggs, beef liver and chicken in addition to having plenty of Cesar's on hand. My girls never turn down Cesar's with a little kibble & water mixed in.

I always have some goat's milk on hand in case a puppy may need supplemental feeding. Mom likes it, too and it's very good for her.

It's also very important for a new Mom to get plenty of water for milk production. I make sure my girls are drinking well. Putting some water in the food (as I do with feeding the Cesar's) helps to keep their water intake up, too.

Best of luck. Hope this helps.
