All breeders do things a little differently, but I isolate my mommas 2 weeks before they are due to deliver. The get a little social time with one or two of the other ladies, quiet time, no running and playing and strenous exercise activity....then that last week, no interaction with other dogs at all. Like Carmen, my males are not the least bit interested......but then I keep my males and females ALWAYS separated except when the boys need to go to work! That way, they stay focused on what their "job" is and I do not have issues/problems with natural breeding....when a lady comes into the breeding area....an expen in my sun room set up for breeding.....he knows what is about to happen and he focuses on the job at hand! If I had a lady about to deliver in 2-6 days, she would be lounging in her whelping area, living the life of Riley....soft music, soothing shows on TV, no intrusions from strangers or other family members, or other members of the Rosehill Gang.....as little activity as necessary going on around her...I already have all my stuff set up and ready to go, etc.
