 Vaccines and Weaning
My Rosie had a singleton 8 weeks ago. He is doing well being introduced to eating on his own, etc but she still lets him nurse maybe around 2 or 3 times per day. I don't mind since I want him to have the antibodies from her milk until he is vaccinated. However, does he need to be fully weaned when he gets his first vaccines or can he still nurse occasionally after the vaccines? I have read that the antibodies he gets from Mom's milk will reduce the effectiveness of his vaccines. How do you all handle this? Thanks. |
