I think it really depends on the dog. If they are used to laying together then they should do well and perhaps you would get less whining with them together. Our Paris REFUSES to let anyone in her cage. If there is anyone in there she will cry all night long. She doesnt like it if they touch her while she wants to sleep! LOL She even gets upset if they touch her when she is sleeping on the couch.
