Default What could cause hair loss on the muzzle?

I was wondering if anyone knew what could be causing this or if itīs normal.
Milo will be ayear old on the 21st of this month and he weighs 3.8lbs.As a small puppy,he had quite a thick coat which has slowly started to change.
As he has grown, his coat has got a little thinner, longer,itīs silky and very managable, but the hair on the bridge of his muzzle and the edge of his ears is so short that its basiclly non exsistant.
I havent cut it,he doesnt scratch there, and there is nothing wrong with the skin,itīs just gone, and I dont know what to think. Here he is at 6 months old:

As you can see,he has a nice parting of fur down his muzzle and on his ears.

And here he is now at almost a year old:

The hair on the rest of his body is VERY long,it almost reaches the floor,so I am lost as to why it has fallen out in that one area.
Also, the hair in that area and the edges of his ears is tan,and itīs in those areas that the hair is short..like less than half an inch.
Whatīs up with that? Is he changing his coat? Is there something wrong?
Should I be worried?

This is a picture of the rest of his coat from behind:
