Just playing devil's advocate....because that's what I do (lol) but studies on the bottom of your shoes and on carts in grocery stores also have cases of e. coli. And many, many other things.
And if you walk in your house with shoes, you're bringing that onto your floors and carpets. That the dogs walk on. And then they lick their paws.
