I work from home, have for years but I should note I work for a very "remote work" company. They have the mindset of my company is that my job does not require me to be in a office but it does require me to work.

People get the impression that working from home means you can sit around in your fuzzy bunny slippers and PJ all day. Not the case for me, I have to be up and showered sitting in my office working by 8:00 am every morning (those are my rules). I also have rules where I make myself feel like I am in a work office (No TV's in my office, no one but me in here when I am working and when I am done the door is shut until the next day).

My advice is instead of looking for a job that states they are work from home look for a company with a liberal work from home policy.
