Yes, I would put her in another room. You don't want her to be psychologically scarred for life, or to develope any protective behaviors, or even develop a fear of strangers, or people in general.
I have to do that when the grandkids come to visit, and the adults give me a hard time about it. I stick it out though, bc the kids are too young yet and the adults just don't get it. But I am not going to risk having a child accidentally kick or fall down on top of one of my dogs, or harrass them. the little boy came to the door the other day and stood there barking at one of mine, and I asked him not to do that as it was upsetting the dog and she was barking back at him. I tried to explain that it is not nice to do that to any dog, and that a dog may bite him. Well his mom jumped all over me for saying something to him, he was just playing, and went off in a huff. I can't fix stupid (although I do try, lol), but I can protect my dogs.
