Hi Patti...the case of Venison that I just bought and had delivered a week or so ago does not have carageenan in it...it has guar gum.
Yes, the canned varieties are for supplemental feeding only because they are only a protein source and not a complete diet so they should be mixed with something else like some dry food or, as their rep said she does, mix it with their veggie mix.
I put a tablespoon over their dry food for each meal...I don't have to...it just gives them a little something extra in the bowl but it will raise the protein level of that meal so you have to give less dry. You can also give it to them as a treat or snack but, no, it is not a complete diet like their dry foods are.
