Yeah, I have kin folks down the street that have a tiny chihuahua girl(unspayed!) that they refuse to walk on a leash. She gets away from them frequently and almost always winds up at my house. I have given them harnesses and leashes, but they just don't use them. Their son (in his 30's) actually started an argument with DH when DH suggested (
) that if the REALLY loved that dog, then walking it on a leash would be better than letting it run without. The dufus seems to think it is "better for her to be free than tied to a leash" when walking. I'm hoping that she doesn't end up like their dog before her--hit on the road!
