The NYC area is just flooded with puppy mill dogs. Pet stores are all over the place. So many of these puppies end up in shelters. Many people who have never had a dog buy these little dogs because they think they are so cute but never realize the work that goes into properly training a dog.....even a small dog. The cute factor wears thin after a few potty accidents on the floor and the pup gets stuck in a crate for most of it's life. Never trained, never socialized. The kids might get it out to play with it once in a while but when it starts biting out of fear off it goes. They get passed around and finally end up at the shelter. Sadly, it is a very common story. |
