You are going to love the RAV4. I've had it for over 8 years and 100K+ miles and still runs great. Other than routine maintenance, no problems at all. And it's perfect for our little babies since it does have the auto on/off airbag feature. And you are right about the safety issue. I started driving SUV's when I saw a video of a crash between a pick-up truck and a sedan. The bumper of the truck hits the person in the sedan right in the face. So no matter how great the sedan's crash ratings is, that bumper is useless unless it hits another "low" car. After that, it's "high" cars for me, period. The only reason I'm changing car is that I'm tired of the same car after 8 years. I'm eyeing the CR-V now.
