If there is smell, I'd be concerned about yeast (systemic or local). Check her armpits, paw crevices, ears, neck, inner legs etc to check if you see anything. I'd ask my vet to do a skin scrape for bacterial veiw (which they can do immed,at the appt) and ask for a sample to be grown in culture.

If my dog had yeast, I would want to treat w/ a regimen of Diflucan (fluconazole) - it's easy, fast, and very efficacious.
