Piper had her third of the 5 doses of Panacur this morning.....she had a very rough night, but it seems to have turned around. My husband and I were up every 2 or 3 hours syringing 1Tab of Babyfood Chicken (stage 2) mixed with 1Tab of Baby Rice Cereal made liquidy with 1Tab Pediolite. I would recommend this mixture for anyone dealing with a sick baby that won't eat.
Syringing was absolutely necessary as she would not eat on her own. Syringing H20 mixed with a little Karo every once in a while kept her hydrated. Before the syringing, she was very listless..obviously on her way to hypoglycemia. Scary. We are also syringing 1/2 teas. of a slurry made with Slippery Elm powder to soothe and coat stomach and intestines a half hour before her Babyfood meal. She is now eating off the tip of my finger rather than having to be syringed. The diarrhea has turned from just water to a very loose pudding like consistency .and just twice today. God has answered prayer! Thanks to everyone for their support and interest
I will keep updating as my experience may help someone else! She is 8 months old and weighs just 3.2 lbs. I have never had one so small. I know many of you have Yorkies even smaller.This is a whole different ball game for me...
