Default Giarrdia found in my new 8 month old named Piper!

Hello everyone...I joined several weeks ago while "shopping" for my new Yorkie...I lost my 11 year old Lexie just before Christmas and though I knew I could never replace her, wanted to share my heart and home with another Yorkie. We have had her about a week, and of course did the initial vet check upon bringing her home...sent out a fecal at the same time. It was picked up on the test that she had giarrdia..panacur was prescribed. I just gave her the first of the 5 day doses this morning..along with some cottage cheese to hopefully curb any nausea that may result. So far she has kept all down, but is having intermittent watery diarrhea. I am on close watch and bathe and clean her area immediately when this happens. I have a floor steam cleaner to clean the tile in her area...also washing with a bleach solution .
She is 8 months old and weighs 3.2 lbs. She has little interest in food..but will take bits of chicken/rice, but only if there is cottage cheese added. I have also fed her bits of pumpkin from my finger. I am syringing H20 every couple of hours..a teaspoon at a time. Question is...has anyone dealt with diarrhea during the panacur treatment and any suggestions as to keeping her hydrated and fed without aggravating her diarrhea? Thanks for any and all suggestions....she is just the sweetest little girl, I am heartsick about this. Didn't expect to be dealing with a sick baby....and want to do all I can to make her comfortable. Susan
