I just got back from shopping and should not have been rushing off when I posted. Of course the beautiful blue and gold coat of silk is a big part of the standard.
I am a body person, tiny ears, straight back, correct head so color is usually the last thing I think of but very important to the standard.
I have a friend who breeds the Shih Tzu breed and she says the first thing they ask about is not health, coat or any parts of the body but color.
