I am reading Geroge R.R. Martin..."A Dance with Dragons" .. hbo made a series out of the books.
I loved Karen Marie Morning 's Fae series... Darkefever, Dreamfever, Faefever and Shadowfever... I can't remember the order right now but very good... not vampires but very much good vs evil type stuff.
She also wrote a lot of highlander novel... they are a little more raunchie
then the fae seriers.
