I am sorry for your pain and illness and having to worry about Jax. He is beautiful and one of the cutest pups I have ever seen!
The only advice I can give is to stay on top of everything and do as the Dr. says, they may be able to correct his problem...or medicate his problem. I don't have much, thank god, experience with Liver Schunt but I do have a puppymill girl who is sick often and has had more surgeries than I can count; however, her pain and suffering is not constant, her quality of life is still awesome and as long as that continues...I will keep taking care of her, like she does me! She is almost 8 yrs. old now.
I had another pup with heart problems who lived only a year, I wouldn't trade any time I've had with either of them for anything!
Try not to imagine the worst because imagining is far worse than going through it...take it one day at a time and make sure you and your vet are always on the same page!
Good Luck and keep us posted, we are here for you.
