Many families have AKC registered dogs and dogs that have been rescued and want them all to be able to participate in some sport. Dogs enrolled in this program must be neutered, so there is no worry that they will produce offspring. I wouldn't say that the AKC is promoting mixed breeds, it's just that they are allowing them to participate with their pedigreed brothers and sisters.
So will AKC keep pedigree information for these mixed breeds as they do the purebreds? Meaning if the registered mix breeds are bred does the AKC continue to register the puppies?
