I am hesitant to call back bc I am already so upset. And after going over everything in my head and thinking of everything I did for the pup, that it had to have been sick prior to me purchasing it. When she was weighed at the vet she weighed 2.07lbs on Saturday. I did alot of research on breeders, emailed a few, and found one on the AKC website offering her pups and went to visit today. The things I saw today were 100% different from when I purchased Lola. So I can state that the first breeder did wrong. The lady I visited today did everything she possibly could to reassure me about her puppies. I saw the mother, the father, all of the puppies, and even one of the moms pups from a litter the previous year who is about one. I felt so much more comfortable talking with this lady and she enlightened me on many things with the puppy. All her dogs, even the pups, were socialized and all had great personalities. So I know that the breeder I delt with first was wrong. In your opinions what should I say to this lady? And with not being able to have a cause of death, how do I go about talking to her. I could care less about getting my money back, if it happens it happens.
I REALLY hope that you go after the original breeder, though. If she gets away with this with you she will get away with it again, perhaps she has before. If it were ME, I'd be making this gal's life a living hell so that she NEVER BREEDS AGAIN!
As for what to say to her, well, I'd start out being VERY calm but stern. Get your plan together- let her know what you want and be straight about it, don't sugar coat things just to be nice. You are NOT out of line asking for your money back. All of it. You can ask for the vet bills but as long as she gives you back your entire amount (including "non-refundable deposit") I probably wouldn't push it too hard. However, IF you are taking her to small claims court as you mentioned before, you need to be prepared to ask for EVERYTHING. Bring her copies of the vet bills and the FL Pet Lemon Law. If you were calling her from a cell phone copy down every time you called her. Keep and print out every text you sent her. Show her all of the documentation you have from everything that happened from the very begining. Bring someone with you who can stand up for you but NOT to gang up on her. Stop at the local police station first and try to file a complaint and to at least make them aware of the situation in case she tries to call them on YOU.
You really need to get this woman shut down. I know it is asking a lot of you but you can stop this from happening to someone else.
Best of luck! (((HUGS)))
