Jazzie battled the itchies since she was 3 mo old. Everytime I took her to the vet he gave her cortizone shots and it stopped the itching immediately. But knowing cortizone is a steroid I got worried and took her to a veterinary dematologist and had her tested for allergies. Believe it or not she is allergic to (in order of most sensitive to less):

1. CATS!!!
2. Dust mites
3. Seasonal pollens

So, out went all the carpet to eleminate the dust mites. Covered the beds with hypo-allergenic matress covers, and finally had to step up the cleaning and dusting including washing her bedding once a week. It really helped. She is now on Natural Balance Duck & Potato formula and I give her over the counter antihistamine (on the advice of the doctor) on higher wind days.

She has been itch free for a while now.
