I wanted "Jill" from the start as a tribute to a Yorkie I'd just lost. His name was "Jack," and I thought Jill was a good name to come frolicking after

But my wife wanted something fancier, more girlie. She said "Bijou." I wasn't a fan.

I think the deciding factor was when I tossed the idea out here and on Facebook and everyone who knew Jack was overwhelmingly in favor of Jill.

We settled on the full name of Jillian Bijou, and I had to promise to never call her Jill. Well, what my wife knows won't hurt her.
