I feel like this is just an accident waiting to happen. If you’re going to have a pit bull you should learn how to train it. Hitting a dog can actually make it become more aggressive, that's how they "train" dogs to fight. Please take yout dog to obedience school, the knowledge you gain will help you with all your dogs throughout your life time, it's really worth it. You might be interested in this thread, their Yorkie and Pit bull used to play and one time they left them alone "for a second."
