I agree with the others, this vet isn't telling you something or isn't versed enough in treatments. Please take your baby right now to an ER vet or Vet school. Needs to be done now, though.

Pick yourself up, don't quit on Chip, and go do what you can do..dont' worry about hurting this vet's feelings...this is for Chip. Praying for you both!
