Without seeing her, it's hard to tell but you really are supposed to be able to feel their hips and spine, if you can't it means there is too much fat covering them.... I wouldn't worry too much unless she looks emaciated and you can really see all those bones sticking out, not just feel them. I'm always surprised about what a healthy weight looks like on a dog. I always think the slightly overweight one looks healthy and unfortunately, too many pets are severely obese these days....
