Good idea. She sedated her enough to look down her throat with a laryngoscope and said there was no swelling/redness. She did put her on an antibiotic and an antihistamine and Poppy already sounds soooo much better and is breathing much more normally. I will remember to ask about the throat culture if symptoms return after the antibiotics. Thanks for your response and concern.
