| New to forum world with a ""wheezy" little girl We are not sure how this works but we have a 4 year old Yorkie (our daughter's but are keeping Poppy while she finishes Med school) who has developed a wheeze at night. We noticed a cough a while back and took her to our Vet who treated her for a virus. She still has the cough, primarily when she exerts herself or gets excited. My wife (Chris) repositioned her with her head raised and the wheezing seems to have stopped. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. bogie |

| Did the vet check to see if she had/was developing a collapsed trachea? I'm not sure if wheezing is a symptom (never dealt with it), but coughing after excitement and exertion are symptoms. Others will post with more experience...praying you find the answer and Poppy is well.

| Good idea. She sedated her enough to look down her throat with a laryngoscope and said there was no swelling/redness. She did put her on an antibiotic and an antihistamine and Poppy already sounds soooo much better and is breathing much more normally. I will remember to ask about the throat culture if symptoms return after the antibiotics. Thanks for your response and concern. |

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Welcome to the forum. It does sound like Collapsing Trachea, which my Paris had but if they checked it out with the scope that's good. Hope she continues to improve. |
