I think I would be incredibly cautious. 3.5 lbs is very small and fragile. One mis step and you have a broken bone or worse. A 3.5lb yorkie might not even be able to jump up onto the couch or make it up the stairs. Sometimes the reason they are so small, is because they have a health problem. Just my thoughts... I would be WAY more concerned about temperament and health than size.....
