Your puppy should not be stinky. He should not have any crud in his ears. If he has brown stuff in the ears that would probably be caused by either ear mites or a fungus infection. Fungus infections do stink and it needs a special kind of drops to get rid of it. Keep the ears dry and be careful not to get water in them when bathing.
Sometimes food can cause a stench to come out through the skin.Make sure you are feeding a good quality food.
Since your puppy is so young I would assume he is not completely potty trained. Is he kept in a kennel? Is he near where he potties? If he is having to step in the area where he is peeing and pooing it is going to make at least his feet stink if not his whole body.
One other possibility is that you might be using a shampoo with sulfates it it. Many commercial shampoos (even puppy shampoos) use sulfates to create bubbles. They actually strip the natural oils from the skin and coat. This causes the skin to over produce oil after a bath. That can cause the dog to look oily and become smelly after just a short time after the bath.
I hope you can find what the cause of this odor is because you certainly should not have a stinky dog. |
