Default Early kidney disease issue

My two little yorkies are having some kidney issues and was wondering if others have gone thru it. I need some support.
My oldest , 3.5 lbs, 15 yrs old just had her teeth cleaned and all went well, but she needs to be monitored with lab work every 3 months and a special diet. Her younger sister , 3 lbs, 13 yrs old was going to get her teeth cleaned this morning but her BUN and CREA readings were too high so they are keeping her over nite to see if the morning lab readings change. If not I don't know what to do. If she don't get her teeth cleaned it could cause her more health problems. I'm going to visit her in the hosp. later.
Has anyone had any experience here with early kidney disease, I'd appreciate any input I can get on the subject. They are starting on new special formulated food for Kidney disease consisting of Sweet Potato, Butternut Squash, Cod fish, and Cod fish broth with minerals/vitamins. So far they have liked this food transition. Let me know your experiences with early kidney disease. BTW, both are blind but doing good with it and have no other health issues.
