There are two malls near me and they both have pet shops like that. The one has had many different owners of the store. When one goes out of business they are sure to get someone else in there quick. It is located right near one of the main entrances and I'm sure they feel it brings in more customers because people love to look at the cute puppies, kittens and other small animals.

It is truly one of the saddest places there are if you really look at what is happening there. They always say their puppies come from "good breeders." What a lie! What good breeder would pack off their puppies before they are properly weaned and have them trucked to the other side of the state or country to be sold to who know who?? Many of the poor creatures end up in shelters if they do not sell quickly. Many end up in shelters or being passed from owner to owner anyway because they have so many problems. Many die in transit or after they arrive due to dehydration, hypoglycemia, or a variety of illness they have contracted at the filthy mills they come from. All the while the puppy's parents sit in their tiny filthy cages producing more babies to be turned out again in a few weeks.

If people would take the time to research the dog breeding industry they would find they can buy a beautiful healthy puppy from a reputable breeder for less than what they would pay at a pet shop or some online con person they find in their google searches. Of course you can't get that really great 21% interest rate on the payment plan that the pet shop offers.
