I truly detest pet shops, the money-mad jerks who own them, the greeders who sell puppies to them and the clueless people who work in them, sell a dog to anybody with the money and feel sorry for the true victims who buy the poor dogs from them. Of course not all buyers are victims - they know what's going on and still buy from them - some because they want to get one of those sad dogs out of there even if it means supporting the horrible practice and some because it's just so convenient to run to the mall for a new dog. I haven't been in a pet shop that sells dogs in more years than I can say. Once I found out the truth about puppymills and the kind of greeder that sells hapless little puppies to pet shops and willingly accepts whatever fate awaits them there, I no longer patronized them for any reason. And I can no longer stand to see the poor, woeful little things on display in their cages, passed around to one and all interested customers all day and evening, 7 days a week, trying so hard to make the best of their situation, just dying to get out of there.
