The Doctor said the CTA results show the blood clot has originated is in her brain. Unfortunately the neurologist is gone for the evening but they said they will have a meeting tomorrow to see what course of action to take! If she has another blood clot this evening, they will call the Doctor at home and ask what to do depending on her symptoms at the time.
My Mother is very scared and wanted to know if anyone here has had any experience with similar types of blood clots and is wondering if this is the best choice for a course of action!
She also wants to thank for your prayers. |
Dear Jason, thank God you are there. My only experience is from that of observer of friends, family and patients who've had similar clots and thank goodness, not one of them died or even had permanent damage. If I were you, I would ask around and find out if she is in the best hospital in your area for cardiovascular accidents and get her moved to the best, if possible, just to be on the safe side. Small hospitals are not nearly as efficient or well-versed as the big, metropolitan hospitals who treat dozens of strokes daily and have large, well-funded departments headed by talented stroke specialists, not just neurologists and cardiologists, vascular surgeons.
If she is in a such a hospital now, all the better. Stay with her, keep the nurses on their toes and advocate for her all that you can. It sounds like she has had the type of bleed that is limited and they feel they have it controlled and she should be fine if her caregivers are knowledgeable. Thank you for being there and helping your mom, Jason.
P. S. Tell her we are all praying hard for her complete recovery and home soon.
