Now, definitely. Do you eat a lot of pasta? Go to your local Sam's Club/Costco/etc and get the large packages.
You'll more than likely finish it before you leave. You can also take it with you (always forget food when you first move...ha ha) or you can donate it your local homeless shelter.
Also, there are corporate housing that you can rent from for a while until you find an apartment, should the job come sooner than you think.
