There is a website called Dog Star Daily that has some very good training articles on it and also some video. They have quite a bit of information about dealing with rescue or problem dogs. I agree he is not ready to go to any kind of obedience training in public. If you could find a good animal behavior specialist it could be helpful.
There is a section here on dealing with puppy mill dogs. You dog has gone through some of the same stress as a puppy mill dog does so reading that may give you some tips. Look in the "sticky" areas. |



This is great information....I also want to welcome you to YT...and I just have to add, please do NOT get your face down close to his mouth....you are just not sure what makes him bite and you do NOT want to get a bite to the face! Be patient with this poor baby....he has had a horrible life up to now...youhave a whole lot of trauma, hate, cruelness, and neglect to undo, on a poor little soul that was born sweet and just wanting someone to love him as much as he loves you....be patient and he will come around....
