It is not uncommon for ALT values to go way high.... I've seen over 2800 before and the dog recovered. Ususally means they ate something that is affecting the liver. Good thing to do is get him on Denamarin, a liver support med, till things are back to normal, and while they try to figure this out. The liver can and does regenerate itself. A dog can live with as little as 1/4 of a functioning liver, so don't lose hope just yet. Sending prayers...
