Welcome to YT. I haven't known a lot of Yorkies but it sounds like your female may have a cotton coat. I guess that type of fur is much harder to care for. You may need to use a good all natural conditioner after shampooing and buy a good spray conditioner for between baths to keep her coat manageable.
There is an area in the "sticky" section about how to deal with a puppy mill rescue. It takes a special kind of person to rehab a dog that has grown up under those types of conditions. Sounds like the poor guy was not socialized and may very well have been mistreated. I would read that article and maybe find some others who have gone through this experience. They need lots of love and patience. Move slowly when getting near him and expect to give him some time to realize that you are not the enemy. |
