Also, do whatever possible for him not to go potty in the house even if your taking him out every half hour.(I know it's a pain to keep an eye on him at all times, but he'll potty train alot faster

I noticed with Joel he did way better after I took all the chances away from him being able to have and accident.
And if your pup still won't potty when you stay out longer, then when you bring him in maybe hold him for 10 min so he can't go off and pee, and then take him out again.
